Why don't you try to create a Tagalog Corpus for yourself? Since you have access to things written in Tagalog,
(1) Put them all into a single document. Don't be too ambitious, something like 20 pages for now.
(2) When you feel you have "enough", use Microsoft Word to change the space between words in a <carriage return> [the symbol of that is "^p" (carot p)]. This will have the effect of creating a list of words as they occurred. You now have a <CORPUS BASE>
(3) Sort the entire document alphabetically using the SORT feature.
(4) You now have an <ALPHABETICAL CORPUS>. I suggest you rename this document so that it will not overwrite your raw corpus or CORPUS BASE.
(5) As you scan through these you will notice that some words (like <ang>, <sa>, <ng>, <diyan> occur many times, while some occur only once or twice. These give you what is called <FREQUENCY>
(6) Count the number of times each token occurs more than once. If something goes on and on, you can create a separate TEMP document, copy them there, and change the word to itself [e.g., change <ang> (whole word) to <ang>]. The program will give you a figure as to how many changes it made. Record that figure at the first entry, and delete all the rest of the duplicates.
(7) Let the first (top) occurrence stay and then put an equal sign (=) and the total number of replacements found, e.g., ang = 256.
(8) You will then have a CONCORDANCE = an index of all words that occurred. There are computer programs that do this, one is called "CONC", and the word in question is put in the middle with a few words of text on its right and its left, so anyone can see its CONTEXT. This is particularly useful if any questions arise.
